Hyderabad: Doctors in Telangana have achieved amazing success by removing a volleyball-sized tumor from the stomach of a 65-year-old woman. The elderly woman has fully recovered after undergoing complex laparoscopic surgery to remove the tumor. Surprisingly, the tumor was born at birth. And this woman has never had any problems.
A rural woman complained of chest and abdominal pain, vomiting, and fever. In the past few months, she has been feeling pain and consulted a gastroenterologist for treatment. Doctors rarely mentioned her case and expected to die from the tumor. According to the doctor, the patient did not have any problems with the tumor and complained of abdominal pain a year ago.
Laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Vinkat Pawan Kumar told a newspaper that the tumor was not cancer, but was located around the lining below the lungs. "I didn't see a tumor larger than 4 cm in diameter. It was a challenge to remove it from laparoscopic surgery. Her right abdomen had severe pain for a year. This woman got stomach symptoms from the doctor. The tumor indicated that it was Congenital."
According to doctors, the tumor may be small at first, but has gradually grown to the size of a volleyball in the past 20 to 30 years. Dr. Kumar said: "My team of doctors performed a six-hour operation to dissect the tumor and use an inner bag to remove it." He said that tumor conditions are also very rare. It surrounds the heart. The woman stayed in the hospital for about 10 days. After a successful operation last week, the woman has fully recovered.
